Documentary Photography

Documentary is the discipline that taught me everything else. A commercial campaign asks: what does the client want? A documentary frame asks: what's actually happening in front of me, and how do I honour it?

My documentary work spans:

Sailing documentary — long-form coverage of regattas, crews, and the offshore world from the inside, not the press boat
People & place — Caribbean, Mediterranean, Northern Europe — communities, port towns, working sailors
Sport documentary — competition, training, the quiet hours between
Editorial assignments — long-form photo essays for sailing and lifestyle press

Published in Sailing Journal, YACHT & YACHT Classic, Arte Navale, Bayerischer Yacht-Club magazines, and others. Selected work has shown in print exhibitions and editorial features.

What I offer for editorial commissions:

Long-form photo essays (3-10 days on location), single-event coverage with editorial pacing, and access to a twenty-year archive of sailing and people imagery available for licensing — many of these images have never been published.
