Photography from twenty years on the world's most filmed regattas, printed on brushed aluminium in signed, numbered editions. Each motif is chosen for one quality — that it gains depth and light when printed on metal. Direct from the Hamburg studio.
Brushed aluminium replaces the white of paper with the play of light itself. The fine grain of the metal catches reflection where ink would normally sit — and a photograph that lives on water, sail and sky takes on a depth no fibre print can reach.
This series brings together work from twenty years on the world's most photographed regattas: the Voiles de Saint-Tropez, the Rolex Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup at Porto Cervo, Kieler Woche, and selected aerial pieces from the North Sea and the Mediterranean. Each motif has been chosen for one quality — that it gains, not loses, when printed on metal.
Substrate — 3 mm aluminium composite plate with a true brushed finish
Process — direct UV print onto the metal surface, archival, light-stable, fingerprint-resistant
Visible effect — the brushed grain remains visible in the lighter areas of the image. Skies, sails and water carry a metallic sheen that shifts between daylight and interior light
Mounting — rear aluminium float-mount, no frame required
Sizes — standard format on each product page; custom sizes on request
Each motif is released as a numbered limited edition. The edition size is stated on every product page. Once the edition is complete, the motif is not reprinted.
